Printed in Bucks Herald Business Supplement - 25th July 2007

A BUSINESS network of leading environmental product and service companies that was founded in Aylesbury Vale is looking to expand its coverage.
enviroVale is a business driven network of leading environmental product and service companies which has focussed primarily on businesses based in and around Bucks but is now expanding its geographical coverage. It is also planning to link with educational establishments to work on projects and to assist in new skills growth to satisfy employment needs.
Peter Howson is director of enviroVale. He told The Business Herald that with issues such as global warming, ecological impact and climate change of increasing concern both locally and globally, the way people and businesses act is changing.

Mr Howson added: "Bucks and other nearby areas are where we can find world leading businesses assisting governments and businesses globally to improve the situation. Whether it be waste management, remediation of brownfield sites, traffic generated pollution, bio fuels, strategic advice to governments, reduction in landfill, recycling, wind energy or solar power……………. There is a fund of local expertise within enviroVale assisting worldwide. These key businesses are now working together to increase the benefits they can offer to governments, businesses and individuals alike."
enviroVale is managed by its members. One key aim for enviroVale is to enable its members to share ideas, market knowledge and marketing to the mutual benefit of both members and clients alike.
Mr Howson said new members are being welcomed to share in and increase the benefits to serve end client demands for environmentally friendly and sustainable solutions.
One of the expanding members of enviroVale is Red Rhino Crushers. Aylesbury MP David Lidington, will be opening their new factory on Friday and lent his backing to enviroVale.
He said: “With the significant expansion planned for the Aylesbury region, it is not only extremely important to promote business development through the networking driven activities of enviroVale, but it is also equally important to promote individual companies like Red Rhino who provide the environmentally and cost efficient recycling equipment solutions to ensure that the construction growth is environmentally and economically well managed.”
Mr Howson said businesses have now started to take environmental and sustainability issues seriously and are taking correspondingly serious actions.
He said: "Environmental issues will play an increasing role in both business and private life in the years to come. The issues and concerns are being more widely communicated. One of the key factors is that a subject is becoming more and more topical – “Carbon Footprint” moves by major businesses recognise the increasing concerns of their customers in turn this will impact their supply chain. Already business park developers are reluctant to build on flood plains, insurers alike have concerns. Residential buyers now check the flood risk situation on possible new purchases."
Mr Howson said enviroVale has some 30 member businesses. The total workforce of companies who are members of enviroVale is in the order of 120,000 people worldwide.
David Richards, CEO of SLR Consulting and Chairman of enviroVale commented, “enviroVale presents an opportunity for businesses to share ideas and work together on a number of activities to the benefit of all members”.
Mr Howson said one key objective is to enable all appropriate industries to progress in their use of advanced products and services in their contribution to the global move to a greener world.
He added: "The members of enviroVale benefit from networking and sharing ideas and knowledge with businesses or educational / research establishments in the same overall marketplace that similarly develop, manufacture or supply environmentally focussed products and / or services."
